Standardization of systems and interfaces with years of expertise

GHK was commissioned by a company in the plant industry to digitize and harmonize the existing commercial business processes into an international standard ERP system and to increase the existing turnover sustainably.

One of the challenges of the project was that the company owned several legal entities, which worked with different processes and systems. The corresponding interfaces to the individual business areas and activities were missing. At the same time, the company had many different stakeholders, which had to be coordinated and picked up in the project.

Through a comprehensive as-is process survey of all existing commercial business processes, GHK created a target concept with the aim of establishing the different commercial business processes and systems of the companies and the legal entities associated with them in an uniform, cross-divisional ERP system. In the workshops the design of the processes was created, the project management which was executed by GHK in the future was discussed and economic evaluations were carried out, considering all follow-up and incidental costs. Thanks to GHK's many years of expertise, a software provider with extensive know-how in the plant construction industry was selected to realise the project in time and without exceeding the budget.

Mapping and alignment of processes to the system with operative support by GHK

The management of a spirits manufacturer commissioned GHK to optimize the existing SAP system. This was triggered by the fact that no invoices could be issued for more than three months when working with a new logistics partner. This was due to internal processes that did not match the processes mapped in the IT system. When the SAP system was introduced, the accounting requirements were not taken into account.

Within one week, GHK enabled the client to issue invoices in the SAP system. At the same time, GHK recorded the processes and adjusted them in the system in order to implement the requirements of financial accounting in SAP, among other things. Thanks to GHK´s conceptual and operational support, GHK was able to harmonize and optimize the master data in order to ensure the smooth implementation of all processes in the SAP system.

Education and training

Implementation of a new cross-functional ERP system

For a company in the education and training sector, GHK replaced the old ERP system (AS400) with a new, cross-divisional ERP system.

The company worked with the existing ERP system for more than 20 years - without any process-related specifications. Based on the actual processes, GHK created a target concept, by which all company units were to be represented in a fully integrated, cross-departmental ERP system. For this purpose, it was necessary to completely redefine all company areas and to redistribute responsibilities and rights.

Simultaneous to the creation of the target concept, GHK created a catalogue of requirements, from which it quickly became clear that the ERP system "Microsoft Navision" was the right solution for the client. This was confirmed in the subsequent workshop. When "Microsoft Navision" was introduced, GHK took over the project management and was able to complete the project in time and without exceeding the budget.

As a result, GHK increased the efficiency of the company by converting and outsourcing the accounting and controlling.
